3 De-stressing Tips for Stay-at-Home Moms

Mom doing yogaMothers, your woes are heard. You’re tired of doing chores that don’t seem to end and doing the same thing multiple times in a day. Here are three ways you can reboot and re-energise so you can do more for your little ones.

1. Start a wellness routine.

A health routine doesn’t have to be complicated and time-consuming. Start with simple exercises to increase energy and some relaxation techniques to help you de-stress at certain times of the day.

Setting a few minutes for your daily wellness routine helps keep you balanced and centred. Set aside a weekend for a relaxing yoga detox retreat. Yoga reduces stress and also helps detoxify your system, so you feel healthy mentally and physically.

2. Do something you love.

Have you been putting off something you’ve always wanted to do for a while now? Set aside a few weekends at a time to do something you’ve been planning to do. Consider it a reward for yourself — for working hard week after week. Nothing is more fulfilling than being able to do something for you.

It gives you a sense of accomplishment and a feeling of success that can power you up throughout the week. You’ll be surprised at how much more you can do when you set aside a little time for yourself to relax and re-energise.

3. Do nothing at all.

Sometimes all you need is a dose of quiet time to do absolutely nothing at all. This could be sitting on a bench in a park, just watching the things around you go by. Consider taking a walk to get some fresh air or simply enjoying a day without a schedule.

Sometimes, all we need is a little time away for our brains to stop solving problems, our mouths to stop talking, and our bodies to stop moving. Fulfill the need to do nothing at all. The time for peace, no matter how short, does wonders to your well-being.

Setting a few minutes for yourself every day and a few weekends a year can do a lot for your mental and physical health. Give yourself a break from all the housework and childcare. You deserve it.
