Logitech Cordless Desktop S530 Laser for Mac. Continue.

A button dedicated for scrolling, volume, muting, media keys, spotlight, CD eject button, back buttom, homepage button, email button and on/off power button to shut off the computer. A thats just on the keyboard.

The Logitech laser mouse is very nice as well. Very smooth and accurate in its tracking. It felt kinda light when I took it out of the box but once I put in the included batteries it felt quite solid. The mouse has dedicate forward/back thumb buttons, dedicated volume up/down and mute buttons along with verticle / horizonal scrolling and scroll wheel click. Oh yeah, and both the keyboard and keyboard have battery indicators and are supposed to be very low power and last up to 6 months on regular batteries.

Both are as wireless as can be and have a wireless reciever that works very well and only takes up one USB port. First thing I did was configure this thing to integrate into my workflow. Having all these buttons on the actual keyboard is great. On the mouse I have one of the thumb buttons to espose show all windows, the other thumb button set to minimize window. I reconfigured the volume up and down button to switch back/forward between my desktop manager 8 desktops I always have going on. Finally I set the mute button as the back button in my browser.

I really don’t see though why they have the exact same buttons on the mouse AND the keyboard (volume up/down and mute), seems kinda redundant to me, but perhaps they were just trying to fill space on the keyboard?

So overall I’m quite impressed and happy with this, a great gift indeed (Thanks babe!). I’ll have to see how much having a “non-ergonomic” keyboard affects my wrists and such. But the typing speed is worth it, I definitely recommend it.
